Award winning journalist Sydnie Kohara brings more than two decades of
experience to her position as news anchor at CBS-5/ KPIX TV. She has lived and
reported in Asia, Europe and the U.S.
Kohara is no stranger to the world of technology. She was the founding host of
CNBC Asia’s first show about the Internet, “dot.com”, in 1997 and later anchored
CNBC’s “CNET News.com”, exploring the people and personalities driving the tech
revolution.
Kohara was part of the KGO-TV newsroom which won the both the George Foster
Peabody Award and the Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the 1989
earthquake, two of the highest honors bestowed in U.S. broadcast journalism.
She has been selected to participate in this year’s Asian American Journalists
Association Executive Leadership Program.

Gail Coury

Gail has over twenty years experience in information security infrastructure systems
and network management, security technical consulting, information systems
auditing, and programming. Industries include enterprise application software, airline
reservation systems, insurance, banking, and retail sales.
Gail leads the risk management function for Oracle Global IT. This includes Security
Strategy, Security Solutions, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Services,
and Audit & Compliance. She is the former CISO for PeopleSoft and former CISO for
J.D. Edwards.
Gail received her bachelor’s degree in Management Science and Computer Science
from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. She is an alumnus of the 2007 Stanford
Executive Program of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Tara Prakriya is an Architect for Microsoftʼs Unlimited Potential Division. Tara
started at Microsoft working on the MSN Platform in 1997. during her tenure there
she oversaw early adoption of the .NET Framework as the Product Unit Manager of
the content management platform. She was also a Program Manager for the ad
system and the content and user data warehouse.
Joining Windows in 2002, she was the Product Unit Manager for Mobile PCs in Vista
and then the Product Unit Manager for Tablet PC in Vista. Most recently she has
been incubating projects in emerging markets that leverage pen, touch, and ink.
Prior to joining Microsoft she worked at Merck & Coʼs US Human Health Division IT
focusing on financial data warehousing.
