Award winning journalist Sydnie Kohara brings more than two decades of
experience to her position as news anchor at CBS-5/ KPIX TV. She has lived and
reported in Asia, Europe and the U.S.
Kohara is no stranger to the world of technology. She was the founding host of
CNBC Asia’s first show about the Internet, “dot.com”, in 1997 and later anchored
CNBC’s “CNET News.com”, exploring the people and personalities driving the tech
revolution.
Kohara was part of the KGO-TV newsroom which won the both the George Foster
Peabody Award and the Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the 1989
earthquake, two of the highest honors bestowed in U.S. broadcast journalism.

Birgit Starmanns, Senior Director, Customer
Value Network, SAP America
Sharon manages Customer Experience for the Enterprise Software Business within
HP’s Imaging and Printing Group. Her organization is responsible for defining and
implementing the processes and methods to provide the best customer experience
for prospective, new, and existing customers. Prior to the formation of the
Enterprise Software Business following HP’s acquisition of Exstream Software,
Sharon managed the LaserJet Connectivity organization responsible for delivering
networking, security, and driver and management software to integrate IPG devices
into customers’ environments, small businesses to global enterprises.
Sharon has had a long and successful career with HP holding numerous engineering
and management positions in the successful Imaging and Printing Business. She has
a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State
University as well as Executive Education at the University of Michigan through HP’s
Accelerated Development Program.


Birgit Starmanns is a Senior Director in the Customer Value Network at SAP America
in Palo Alto, CA, where she is focused on driving the creation of a customer
community for Financials. Since joining SAP in 1999, she has held various positions,
including Vice President of CRM Product Management for the Partner Channel
Management capabilities in SAP CRM, and Director of Product Management for SAP
CRM E-Commerce.
Prior to joining SAP, she was a manager and senior-level management consultant for
nine years at consulting organizations including Price Waterhouse, redesigning
business processes and implementing SAP R/3 and SAP R/2 for numerous Fortune
500 as well as SMB companies. Birgit holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business
Administration degrees from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
Birgit has published over a dozen articles, and contributed to half a dozen books,
on both CRM and ERP topics. She is also a highly rated speaker at SAP and industry
conferences. In her roles at SAP, she has managed virtual teams across various
global locations, cultures, and organizational entities.
